Located in Beverly, MA, Shore Country Day School is an independent school for Pre-Kindergarten (Age 3) through Grade 8.
Early Childhood
Our early childhood program consists of two sections: Toddler and Primary. In our Toddler Program, students ages 12 months to three years are mastering important life skills from motor skill development and imaginative play to pre-reading and writing. When students age into our Primary (3-6) Program, Pre-K & K students soar—bringing what they’ve already learned and applying their experiences to cultural studies, mathematics, language arts, and practical life skills.
(Toddler - Kindergarten)
“There are so many things to love about Shore: exceptional educational opportunities, inspired arts curriculum, amazing facilities, and an astounding sense of community, just to name a few.”
Elementary School
Students in our Lower (grades 1-3) and Upper (grades 4-6) Elementary programs are ready to tackle even greater academic challenges. Our elementary students discover the importance of knowing themselves and their learning styles—where they’re able to work seamlessly as an individual and a collaborator. Students are presented with wide ranges of materials, allowing even the most academically focused students to feel challenged.
(Grades 1 - 6)
Middle School
Our middle school curriculum allows students to dive deeper into concepts previously learned in the areas of mathematics, language arts, science, and social studies, and a wide range of enrichment classes. Students take their learning to the next level by traveling to nearby educational destinations, from Washington, D.C. to Boston (and everywhere in between) to broaden their understanding of how learning can happen anywhere, no matter where their lives take them.
(Grades 7 & 8)
DISCOVER SHORE COUNTRY DAY SCHOOL545 Cabot Street, Beverly, MA 01915
Shore Country Day School is a Preschool (Age 3) through Grade 8 private school on the north shore of Massachusetts. Our mission is to provide an education that inspires a love of learning and encourages children to embrace academic challenge. We seek to build character, cultivate creativity, and value diversity as we help our children become healthy, compassionate citizens of the world.
Early Learning
At Shore, we embrace and nurture the joy and curiosity that our youngest learners, ages 3-5, naturally bring with them to school. In our Reggio Emilia-inspired learning spaces and outdoor classrooms, children find a safe place to explore the world and their own interests, and social-emotional growth takes center stage. At the same time, Shore’s early learning program gives children an academic head start, introducing children to the full range of the curriculum they will encounter in the elementary grades.
PRE-K & KINDERGARTEN
Upper School
GRADES 6 - 8
In the middle school years, students are actively involved in their own learning experience, especially around the Harkness tables in English, history, and science classrooms. A vibrant and supportive place, Shore’s Upper School is where young people find their voice and develop their leadership skills. Teachers, who are also advisors, encourage their students to step outside their comfort zone to engage with new ideas and experiences. Trips, service learning, on-stage opportunities, and interscholastic sports build connections that last.
GRADE 9
Shore’s ninth grade program is a transformative year of discovery, achievement, and personal growth. Ninth graders at Shore are the seniors on campus, and thrive as student leaders, musical lead actors, literary magazine editors, sports team captains, and role models and mentors to the younger students. Off campus, ninth grade students relish travel and service experiences which remain touchstones for graduates long after they depart.
Elementary School
GRADES 1 - 5
Joy and challenge in equal measure define children’s experiences in the elementary grades. Our expert teachers are masters at connecting with children to draw out passions and aptitudes. They find countless ways to engage each individual learner in adventurous education, offering individualized support as students navigate an advanced curriculum grounded in the liberal arts. Recess and physical education nourish the body, and an emphasis on the arts allows creativity to flourish.
Each school year, Shore students, families, and employees sign an agreement to abide by the Shore Community Code. The shared understanding created through this simple action underscores the most distinguishing aspect of Shore: our vital, passionate dedication to community.
